National Tripartite Committee on Tuesday, April 28 held a brief meeting on measures to be adopted by organized labour to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic. The meeting, according to sources involved Minister for Labour and Employment Relations, Ignatius Baffuor Awuah and selected representatives of organized labour including Trades Union Congress.
Key among decisions adopted were how to enforce compulsory wearing of nose mask, institution of COVID-19 Safety Committees for the purpose of education and related matters, and compliance of World Health Organization, WHO safety protocols.
The meeting iREPORT learns was not heavy on the plight of workers especially those at the bring of losing their jobs, stimulus packages for companies and what its likely to entail should the COVID-19 crisis travel beyond June.
